I’m lying in a bed behind a curtain and Hans is wiping me down with antiseptic wipes. Next he helps me on with my stylish lilac colored robe… tied at the neck and open in the rear. On go the bright yellow socks which Hans points out match my ID bracelet.

Taking a break from this exciting live report….

Zach called me yesterday to report that his trip to Ecuador was in jeopardy. He had not realized that many countries require that all visitor passports have 6 months or more left on them before expiration. To be sure, he drove to the airport where his worst fears were confirmed. Several hours later….Zach and Caro called with an update. Ecuador was out. A few hours later ….Nonplussed, the dynamic duo drove back to airport. Caro said she felt like they were in a ROM-Com movie when they stepped up to the air line counter and asked for “Two tickets to Greece please. “. Two hours later, they were in the air. I love how quickly they turned their disappointment into opportunity and look forward to hearing about their adventures over their unfolding 3 week vacation in Greece. Hello Athens!

Meanwhile back in my reality….

By 1:15 PM, we had been visited by the anesthesiologist and the surgeon. Both doctors assured us we would be next into the OR but that was not to be. Although the procedure was scheduled for 1:45 it did not actually begin until after 3:30 but MOFFITT is a great place if you have to hang out. I am home again in bed with a heating on Our follow up with the surgeon is in one week.

  1. Beverly and I send our best wishes and good thoughts. You make following your difficult journey such a meaningful experience. And I heard the Caroline/Zach saga from my oldest daughter, Sara, whose husband, Rodrigo, you may know, owns a travel business. They got some on-the-fly advice from him. We have been to Athens and it is awesome. But in the summer and was very HOT. Now would be a way better time to visit. I don’t think I could turn on a dime like they did. Oh, to be young!
