Talk about being organized! I finally opened my chemo package from RX To Go and was quite impressed with all the “goodies” they provided. As you can see, I’ve been supplied with a pillbox and a handy dandy calendar pad to ensure that I take my meds consistently every 12 hours for 2 weeks. Quite the swag bag!

Along with these goodies comes utterly smooth handcream, which I hope not to use. The cream is to combat the hand-foot syndrome that I may develop. Apparently small amounts of the drug may leak out of very small blood vessels called capillaries in the palms of my hands and soles of my fee resulting in redness, tenderness, and possible peeling of my palms and soles. Doesn’t sound fun at all! Enclosed flyers provide information about prevention (reducing friction and heat exposure) and pain relief, but I will save that fascinating information when/if I become a member of the hand foot syndrome club.

Game On!

The oxy has kicked in so I’ve donned my new bikini, paying little attention to the bloat and still healing punctures hanging gracelessly over my bikini bottoms. Although it is only early March, Florida has decided to skip to summer weather so it’s time to relax in the pool. No soaking is allowed yet so I have created a work-around. Lay the pool float on the chair float on the pool lounger and voila — I’m cooled by the pool water without getting my stomach wet. Getting in and out is a bit challenging but where there’s a will….
