This morning I woke up feeling better but looking worse! The viral pink eye has now taken hold in both of my eyes. Fortunately, I have over-the-counter eyedrops to help relieve the pain and the Tylenol and medical marijuana to take care of any residual misery. And sunglasses😉

I’m watching season three of Dead to Me, a dark comedy starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. Spoiler alert. One if the main characters is diagnosed with Stage Four Cancer.

I am watching the scenes with new eyes. Absorbing the emotions with earned empathy.

It must be like attorneys watching legal dramas or doctors and nurses watching medical shows. I’m sure it can be frustrating to see inaccuracies or misrepresentations. Or if they’re lucky, they tune in to a well made show like I have.

The writing this season is spot on as it deals with loss, regret, and now with the specter of cancer My only objection so far is that the bad news is given over the telephone and I don’t think that that is something that happens…unless I’m naïve?
