Hans and I have begun a new chapter. I don’t have a name for the chapter yet but I’m hoping it’ll be “ A Bump in the Road,”and not “ Downhill Both Ways”
The chapter begins with our protagonist, feeling hopeful. The IV chemo is over and she is ready to explore chemo maintenance. Queue the dark music because the very next day, pain begins to play a major role in the unfolding story.
Over the next 6 days, pain becomes a reoccurring character, pushing their way into almost every scene.
The story continues developing as a mystery. Why is Pain so prevalent? What direction should the newlyweds take?
The answers may lie in the scans to be scheduled for Tuesday. We can only wait. Today is now all about pain management and so we introduce a new character, hydrocodone.
Footnote. It is 6 PM and I still have not connected with central scheduling. The scan may have to be Wednesday.
The house is especially quiet. Hans dropped off our beloved Limpy Lou, Delilah, who is scheduled to have an amputation tomorrow. It breaks my heart that I will not be able to be part of her rehabilitation going forward because of my medical slide. I know and trust that another foster will step up and maybe even a foster to adopt. Baxter misses Delilah too but consoled himself with the kittens.
