Although I absolutely loved “wedding week” and all the company and attention, it is nice to be at home relaxing with just my husband..,, and two dogs and three kittens and a foster puppy.
When we reclaimed Delilah this afternoon, she took a moment to recognize me. As she took in my smell and looked at my face, her long tail started wagging uncontrollably. She was equally delighted to smell and see Hans and doubly delighted to be reunited with her buddy Baxter. Her stitches are out but alas, the cone remains necessary. Interestingly, when I remove it for supervised play, she grooms herself like a cat. Hans had Baxter out at the dog park, so I worked with Delilah to teach her the sit and down commands. Roxy joined us once she knew yummy training treats were involved. The coolest thing happened. Delilah watched Roxy and actually learned from her. After five or so treats Delilah had both commands down pat.

The kittens continue to grow and get sweeter every day. We spend time in the gym area together where I hold them belly up or rub noses with them. This has been an effective technique to developing affectionate felines and it certainly seems to be working with these three.

Diet wise, unfortunately, I blew it today. Feeling adventurous, I dared to eat some much coveted salt and vinegar chips for lunch and worse, dared to eat bacon in the omelet that Bunny made me this morning. As I lay in my bed, my trusty heating pad set on high, I reaffirm my conviction to stick to foods I know won’t turn on me. Goodbye Mr Chips Fare-thee-well Francis Bacon.
