You know how I joke about getting to be high all the time? The truth is, while I enjoy a nice buzz as much as the next person, I reserve being high for certain times and occasions. Today was one of those times!

Between the gut pain and the sciatica (which manifests as literally a pain in my arse), I was fairly useless. Suspiciously, the butt pain came after I did 2 short, gentle stretch videos while watching the kittens play. I was so proud of myself and even entertained the thought of being more discipled (translated as it pertains to me as being disciplined to any degree). Now I’m wondering if the stretching did me in!

Tylenol didn’t begin to touch the pain, so Hans brought me my trusty RSO on a spoon in peanut butter. RSO was created by Canadian medical marijuana activist Rick Simpson. RSO is a cannabis-derived oil that has an especially high concentration of marijuana’s psychoactive compound, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC has some pretty potent effects that, when concentrated, have shown signs of being able to treat a variety of ailments. RSO is generally made with indica-heavy strains of marijuana.

So, Indica vs. Sativa: The general perception is that indica is an effective pain reliever, with a flat and relaxing high—mellow. Weed users are taught to remember the distinction that idica will put them “in the couch.”

There are so many variations within the indica vs. sativa categorization, that we should not generalize the psychoactive and other effects of different strains. Sativa is pre-ported to provide a more energizing and creative high, though it can prompt anxiety in some people. Sativa can also be helpful for people with depression, headaches, nausea, and appetite loss. Sativa plants tend to contain more THC than CBD. Again, keep in mind that with so many strains, the comparison between the two is not consistent. And of course, there are hybrids, to make plants that grow more quickly, improve yield, and balance out the energizing and calming effects.

So…..the RSO helped somewhat. My gut is settled down and the pain in my arse is about 50% better. The pain is still there but not to the point that I can’t concentrate on anything else. It’s not yelling as loud.
