Hello chemo #11. I am feeling strong this morning after chasing a runaway Baxter down my block in my night dress and bare feet. Hopefully this session will not drain me of all my energy so I can fully enjoy the time with my family.
Is it strange to say that I enjoyed seeing the nurses again today? Although my purpose for going to the Florida Cancer Center may not be super cheerful, I really do enjoy spending time talking to the nurses. I got my chemo pack on and came home to check on the kittens and cat only to be extremely bothered by a high-pitched beeping sound. I looked all over the cat room and could not find the source so I walked over to where the storage is and could not find the source so I walked over to the panel for the “smart house.” and still could not find the source. Finally, it dawned on me that the sound was wherever I was and it was coming from my pack, which was displaying an error message. I called in and was told to disconnect the battery which meant another trip to the cancer center to get it working again. Thank goodness it’s only a 15 minute ride and now everything seems to be working. Upon hearing the story, Zach asked, were you high? And I had to admit I was not…just not very bright. Ha. Ha
After getting squared away at the cancer center, the three of us went to McDonald’s for a healthy lunch. I haven’t eaten fast food for so long, but the cheeseburger and filet of fish takes me back to being in high school when I had it for lunch quite frequently. Taste delicious to me.
Then it was onto the shelter to take pictures of the dogs to appear on Internet sites like pet harbor, and Petfinder. Zach and Carol helped me to photograph 10 dogs. We took them into a room since it was raining outside and got some good shots. I’m always amazed at how happy some of the dogs are and how scared others are. It makes me wanna just sit in there with them forever 🙂
