And the winner is… Hans. Baxter weighed in at 105.8 pounds. The consensus is that he needs to lose about 10% of his body weight so we are going to concentrate on more exercise and a little less food …for both Baxter and Hans (good thing Hans doesn’t read my journal!) besides that, all went well except for the nail trim. It’s a lot to ask a dog to lay on his side and have someone clipping his nails. We were sent home with some magic pills that will make him relax enough for us to do it ourselves, or we can bring him in once he’s drugged up. More news to follow on this exciting subject.🙃
Our meal train bonanza continued tonight with an invite from Woody and Kathy. They included Mike and Lee in the dinner plans and Kathy made a delicious noodle and shrimp dish. Woody and Mike are both wine connoisseurs and I was told that the vino was good. Both couples were just getting to know each other and found they have a lot in common. We had lots of great conversation about how we all met, our marriages, kids etc. It’s fun to introduce friends to other friends that you know they will like.
At some point, and much to Hans’ dismay, I found myself singing from my burgeoning musical, “colon cancer, the musical.” Mike, who is from London and quite familiar with musical theater was very excited for me to do something with the songs. Woody was a fan too and even sang along when he could guess what was coming next …like a word that rhymes with sitting😛All in all the night was a great send off to the rest of this week which I’m afraid won’t be as much fun😫
