Today was a nice “do what I want to do day. “ I felt strong enough to clean, make an omelet breakfast, and clean some more. Afterwards, Hans and I rode bike/trike to Emerson point. On the way back he hitched an intermittent ride by placing his left foot on the back of my trike. He explained that as a boy growling up in the Netherlands, it was quite common to hitch your bike to a moped by holding on the the driver’s shoulder. This didn’t always end so well as you imagine and he recalled a few spills and bruises!
We worked with Baxter, played with the puppies and I spent time on the phone catching up with my friend, Kris and later with my sister in law, Renee who lives in Alexandria, Virginia with my brother, Rick. Renee is going to need bypass surgery for her heart and if you remember, her pre-op appointment is scheduled for the same morning as Dad’s memorial. Hopefully, she can join us for dinner though. She has a good attitude and is hopeful that the surgery will give her renewed strength and energy.
