I am in the garden with Baxter, Roxy, Penelope, and Paddington. It is in the high 70s, breezy in the shade of the umbrella and it feels heavenly to sit here. I woke up this morning, feeling considerably better and recommitted to eating and drinking the amounts that I am supposed to. It’s crazy that I have to force myself to eat. Oh well, there are worse fates!

I’m going to start using the benecal 330 calories/7g of protein and mixers easily into most foods and beverages according to the packaging at least. See below.
I also have a benecal protein which provides 25 cal and 6g of protein. That one’s more palatable because it’s a powder. The high calorie version is fine if you drink fairly quickly because it will start crusting 😫
Anyway, back to my day. I was scheduled for a 2:30 hair appointment, so Hans and I went out at 12:30 and started at Party City. On Friday night, we are going to our friend Grisel’s 50th birthday party. (Shh..it’s a surprise) Her girlfriend, Marina, is hosting the celebration. She is a fabulous seamstress and every year she creates elaborate costumes for Bob and Grisel. Since Grisel‘s birthday is so close to Halloween, the tradition has always been for Grisel and Bob to host a Halloween party/birthday party combo. They haven’t held the party for two years because of Covid. Marina’s theme is the butterfly garden and she is making a surprise costume for Grisel who will undergo a metamorphosis and become the Princesa butterfly. She’s also making one for Bob but I don’t know what his role in the garden will be. I’m a lady bug and guess what? Hans is a ladybug too. At first he was quite put off by the whole idea of having to dress up, but once he saw the wig and skirt at the store, he was all in 🙂 see below for previous Halloween costume to understand.

2019. Dorothy has been captured. Original costume created by Hans
We had lunch at Firehouse Subs which I still find delicious.
Hans dropped me off for my haircut and went to Bealls where he literally bought two pairs of identical shorts (in case one is in the wash he explained )and three shirts that looks remarkably alike except for the color. At least the man knows what he likes.
Sondra did a nice job cutting my hair and all the brown is now officially gone forever. I am a silver!

We got the pictures from the wonderful photographer Claire hired. Here are a few of my favorites.
