Today is Wednesday and I had the chemo pack removed. Without one of the cancer fighting agents, I skipped most of the symptoms that effect eating like metallic taste etc. All in all, not a bad time yet.

Jake and Krista left a few days ago and Hans and I have established a nice rhythm again. With my children here for two months, my attention has been naturally diverted away from Hans and to tell the truth, he was kind of grumpy. Now that all the children have left, he’s whistling and happy and talkative and all the things that my Hans  is. I turned to him as we drove in the truck and said, “ it’s nice to have you back.” Without missing a beat, he said “nice to have you back too.”

Definitely illustrates the conundrum of having family and or stepfamily around, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I will always treasure those two months with my kids and I think they will too. Time to keep making good memories together.
